Hamburg Pub Crawl Guide

Hamburg is one of Germany’s most vibrant cities, with a rich cultural heritage and bustling nightlife. For visitors looking to explore the vibrant bar and pub scene, a pub crawl or barcrawl is a great way to see a variety of locations and experience the city’s unwavering party atmosphere. This Hamburg Pub Crawl Guide will introduce you to some of the best drinking establishments the city has to offer, helping you to plan your night out in the city.

Bommeleeër

To begin your pub crawl in style, head to Bommeleeër. A firm favorite with locals since 2003, this cool venue is found in close vicinity to Hamburg’s famous Reeperbahn as well as the port. It’s a rather unique bar in that it occupies a 15th century vaulted cellar, creating atmospheric vibes and providing the perfect spot for mingling. The outdoor courtyard is a great place for beer tasting and soaking-up the chilled vibes after dark, and there’s plenty of room for groups. Bommeleeër offers an extensive drinks selection from shots to beer, plus they also serve bar snacks. With a great selection of drinks options and super chill vibes, it’s a great way to start your night.

Personally, I’d definitely recommend this spot on a pub crawl. It’s cool, atmospheric and has plenty of room for groups. Plus, the friendly staff really make an effort to create a welcoming atmosphere – always a bonus on a night out!

Bommeleeër can be found at Grottenauweg 149, 20359 Hamburg.

Molotow

Next up, hit up Molotow – another great destination for music-loving visitors. This lively venue houses two floors with different themes – the upstairs focused on young clubbers enjoying electronic music, while downstairs you’ll find live acts performing on a regular basis. The décor is vintage-cool styled according to the venue’s rock & roll vibe. With DJs playing until 6am everyday except Sunday, it’s one of the most popular late night hangouts and provides plenty of places to get your groove on! There are plenty of spaces for socializing too and even better – no entrance fee.

I personally love Molotow for its late night vibes and promise of live performances – plus, you can’t go wrong with free entry! It’s definitely a great choice for those who love their music and great drinks.

Molotow can be found at Nobistor 14, 22767 Hamburg

Le Fonque

If you’re looking for an all-in-one bar and club, then Le Fonque is the perfect place for your pub crawl. This busy establishment is situated in the heart of Hamburg’s party district and is open until 6am every day – catering to those looking for after-hours revelry. With two floors pumping out different genres of music, you’re sure to find something that peaks your interest here. As well as music, they serve excellent cocktails and craft beers too – so there’s something for everyone! What’s more, their open-air rooftop terrace is a huge hit with guests on summer nights – with its view of the nearby dockside it’s a great spot for relaxation between sets.

I love Le Fonque – it has everything you need in one place: good drinks, plenty of music choices to suit all tastes and even an awesome rooftop terrace! Plus, you can stay dancing until the early hours of the morning knowing that you don’t need to worry about leaving because it’s open till 6am.

Café Keese

For something more low-key and intimate, Café Keese is the place to be. This cosy corner bar lies tucked away between Reeperbahn and Grosse Freiheit and has been around since 1945 – making it one of Hamburg’s oldest bars! Aside from its historic vibes, Café Keese also offers some delicious Bavarian specialties such as schnitzel and homemade cakes – perfect for snacking on with your beer or two! Weekends tend to be lively affairs here too when the locals join in the fun – but don’t worry it never gets too rowdy! Chat with fellow guests or simply relax and observe – perfect if it’s drinks without fuss you’re after.

I highly recommend Café Keese during your pub crawl – it offers a nice respite from the bustling streets outside as well as tasty food which will help keep sober. Plus, its charming intimate atmosphere makes it perfect for catching up with friends or simply just enjoying some peace and quiet!

CFH Bar

When you’re ready to move onto your next stop on your pub crawl, why not check out CFH Bar? Formerly known as „The Hofbrauhaus” – this big open space was recently taken over by CFH Bars Ltd.. This popular venue offers cheap beers as well as a regular rotation of DJ sets mixing reggae, dancehall, hip hop, pop and more every week.If clubbing isn’t your thing, they offer ping pong too or simply enjoy people watching in their bar area while you mingle withe locals or visiting travelers. What’s more – they also host weekend brunches during summer days which always draw in large crowds so make sure to check the times before you arrive if that’s a priority!

CFH Bar gets my vote if you’re looking for a chilled out atmosphere with plenty of options for entertainment during your pub crawl weekend – plus they have absolutely delicious brunch food which is an added bonus!

This multi-functional venue has been going strong since 1996 and serves up an impressive mix of rock, punk, electro and more every night until 4am from its basement space. Aside from good music there are always plenty of drinks promotions available so you can make the most of their generous offer of cheap booze too! If that wasn’t enough – they also host weekly quiz nights on Mondays (which come with 5 Euro beer) and plenty of informal talks too!

Klub Koppie Koppie should definitely not be missed on your pub crawl weekend – its underground location gives off great vibes and its range of events always keep things interesting – plus I always find myself leaving here a few hours later than intended!
