Stockholm is a beautiful city with a unique situation, as it’s surrounded by sea which gives it an energizing atmosphere and plenty of things to do and see around the city. Sweden’s capital has quite a few opportunities to meet other travellers in Stockholm and explore the city at its best. Here are the top 5 places where you can explore and meet other travellers in Stockholm.

Stockholm Old Town (Gamla Stan)

The Old Town of Stockholm, also known as Gamla Stan, is one of the top attractions in the city and one of the best places to meet other travellers, too. This ancient district of Stockholm is home to cobbled streets, grand buildings and many restaurants, cafes and pubs. Whether you want to enjoy a meal in one of the quintessential Swedish restaurants or go for a pint in a local pub, the Old Town has something for everyone. Plus, with its picturesque alleys and courtyards, it’s the perfect place for a romantic stroll or for people-watching in the evening.

Personally, I think Gamla Stan is an absolute must when visiting Stockholm, and you’ll be sure to find plenty of other travellers there too.

Kungsträdgården Park

Kungsträdgården Park is one of Stockholm’s most iconic parks and is yet another great spot to meet other travellers. Located right near the city centre, it’s easy to get to and offers great views over the Royal Palace and Gamla Stan. The park is home to plenty of green grass and trees, as well as many monuments – perfect for taking pictures. During the warmer months, Kungsträdgården is often full of people who are enjoying barbecues in the sun. It’s also a great place to join a game of Frisbee or volleyball with other people from around the world. Of course, if you just want to relax in a tranquil atmosphere, there’s plenty of benches too.

Kungsträdgården is my go-to spot when I want to just spend some quality time outdoors or find a bit of inspiration for my travels.

Yoga on Södermalm

Yoga on Södermalm is one of the best spots in Stockholm for practising and meeting fellow yogis and travellers. This beautiful space and studio offers all types of yoga classes, from more traditional forms to more modern styles such as vinyasa and acroyoga. All classes are taught by professional instructors who are passionate about sharing their knowledge with students of all levels. Plus, there’s free tea and coffee available throughout the day which makes it the ideal spot to find a moment of calm after exploring the city.

Södermalm Market

Södermalm Market is one of Stockholm’s best indoor markets which is open all year round and offers something for everyone. From fresh produce, to handmade Swedish crafts, delicious specialty foods and souvenirs, there really is something for everyone here. Inside the market is a popular spot for local street food vendors, so why not take a break from exploring and grab a bite to eat with other travellers while exploring the market? It’s also a great spot if you’re looking to pick up some unique gifts and souvenirs – with so many items to choose from, you’re sure to find something special to take home with you.

The Södermalm Market is one of my favourite spots in Stockholm – it’s vibrant atmosphere makes it hard not to fall in love with the city!
