Planning a safari tour can be overwhelming, especially if you have never been on one before. Tanzania is home to some of the best safaris in the world, and its Northern Circuit is a popular choice among many travelers. In this blog post, we’ll guide you in planning an unforgettable 4 day Tanzania safari that covers Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, and Maasai Tribe.

Day 1 – Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is Tanzania’s sixth-largest national park, and it’s known for its large elephant herds and magnificent baobab trees. You will leave Moshi or Arusha in the morning and head towards Tarangire. Upon arrival, you will embark on a game drive to explore the park and see the wildlife. The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, and you can spot over 550 bird species. You will have a picnic lunch in the park and continue with the game drive until late afternoon. In the evening, you’ll enjoy dinner and overnight stay at a lodge or campsite near the park.

Day 2 – Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara is a small park, but it’s packed with diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. After breakfast, you’ll leave for Lake Manyara National Park, which is a short drive away from Tarangire. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions and pink flamingos that flock to the lake. You’ll have a game drive in the park and enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake. After lunch, you’ll continue with the game drive and exit the park in the late afternoon. You’ll have dinner and spend the second night at a campsite or lodge.

Day 3 – Ngorongoro Crater

On the third day, you’ll visit the Ngorongoro Crater, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s largest intact volcanic calderas. The crater is home to the Big Five – lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, and leopards. You’ll descend into the crater early in the morning and have a game drive. You can see animals up close and in their natural habitat. You’ll have a picnic lunch by the hippo pool and continue with the game drive until late afternoon. You’ll exit the crater and spend the night at a hotel or lodge near the crater.

Day 4 – Maasai Tribe Village

On the last day, you’ll visit a Maasai village near the Ngorongoro Conservation area. You’ll get a chance to learn about their culture, way of life, and interact with the villagers.
