Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

Day 2: Lemosho Glades to Big Tree Camp

The ascent begins through lush rainforest, before moving up to a heath zone with giant heather trees, and then to the moorland zone, where you will spend your first night.

Day 3: Big Tree Camp to Shira 1 Camp

The trail steepens as you ascend the Shira plateau. You will be rewarded with superb panoramic views of Mt. Meru and the Shira ridge, as well as the vast plains of Africa.

Day 4: Shira 1 Camp to Moir Hut

Today’s hike will take you to a high plateau, where you will be rewarded with stunning views of the landscape. The day ends at Moir Hut, situated at an altitude of 4,200 meters.

Day 5: Moir Hut to Pofu Camp

The trail continues to ascend, following the northern side of the mountain. The day ends at Pofu Camp (3,250 meters), where you will spend the night.

Day 6: Pofu Camp to Third Cave

Day 7: Third Cave to School Hut
