Full Description

The tour starts with a pickup from your hotel in Reykjavik. From there, we will head out towards the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Along the way, we will stop at a bakery that produces one of the three best cinnamon rolls in Iceland. This is an optional stop, but we highly recommend it! On a clear day, the scenic drive to Snæfellsnes is breathtaking. You will have fantastic views of a mountain pass, a lake, a lava field, a few volcanic craters, and the ocean in between majestic mountains. In summer, it is possible to use a dirt road and visit a lava field. There is a private museum close by, which is owned by a family that invented fermented shark about six generations ago. The museum showcases everything shark-related in Iceland and is a fascinating stop on this guided day trip. We will then drive over a bridge shaped like a Viking sword (if seen from above) on our way to Church Mountain (Kirkjufell). This mountain has a distinct pointy top and is famous for being in Game of Thrones. You will have the chance to take some great photos with the waterfall in the foreground. This day of adventure is created for your pleasure, so every tour can be tailored to your preferences, including the optional stops.
