If you’re looking to experience something truly unique during your visit to Ao Nang, why not try your hand at traditional rice planting? This rice planting experience will transport you back in time as you don traditional Thai farmer’s outfits and learn about the rice planting process from a local farmer. In this blog post, we’ll show you how to plan your Krabi tour and make this unforgettable experience a reality.

Experience Highlights

  • Learn about the rice planting process.
  • Experience the local farmer’s folkway.
  • Be transported back childhood mud activity.

Full Description

The rice planting experience starts with dressing in the Mor-Hom, the traditional Thai farmer’s outfit, and taking off your shoes to walk along the ridge surrounded by lush paddies. You’ll feel like a local farmer as you stomp your feet into the mud, both hands holding the green rice seedlings ready to plant. In the southern region of Thailand, rice paddies can be planted once a year and take 5-6 months of all the process before harvesting. The sowing begins in May as the rice seedlings take three months to grow. From July to September, the “green season” progresses, and the rice paddy is ready to plant. The tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off within the Ao Nang area, authentic Thai farmer’s outfit (Mor-hom), snacks, and drinks. If you’re staying outside the Ao Nang area, the tour also offers a pickup and drop-off service for an additional cost.
