It’s an old city with a mix of medieval, Renaissance, and Soviet-era architecture, as well as many grand, modern buildings. With its picturesque cobblestone streets and quaint pubs, Tallinn makes for a great pub crawl all year round.

Though pub crawling is a popular activity for visitors to the city, there are time-honored rules when it comes to visiting pubs. Drinking responsibly and respecting other guests are key, but doing so can be easy when you know which pubs you should hit up on your night out. To help you out, we’ve compiled this list of the best pubs in Tallinn—in no particular order—which will make for an epic pub crawl.

Midnight Bar & Club

The Midnight Bar & Club is one of the best known pubs in Tallinn. Located in the heart of the city center, it’s just a stone’s throw away from Town Hall Square and the bustling Viru Street nightlife. With a selection of classic and contemporary cocktails, as well as classic beers and ciders, Midnight Bar & Club is a great place to start your pub crawl. The atmosphere is always lively, with music playing all night long. The club also has a dance floor equipped with smoke machine, lasers, and bubblers. Midnight Bar & Club is definitely one of the highlights of Tallinn’s pub crawl scene.

My opinion: I’ve been to Midnight Bar & Club quite a few times now—it’s one of my favorite watering holes in Tallinn. It’s always enjoyable and has a great atmosphere—definitely somewhere I would recommend for those just starting out on their pub crawl!

Sutsi Pub & Deli

If you’re looking for a typical Estonian pub experience on your pub crawl then look no further than Sutsi Pub & Deli. Established in 1997, it’s one of the oldest pubs in Tallinn and has become something of an institution over the past two decades. It offers classic local beers on tap as well as a selection of Estonian wines, with traditional Estonian snacks served to accompany them. It’s located on Vana-Viru Street which has recently become one of the trendier nightlife spots in the city. The atmosphere is great here and there are plenty of locals hanging out anytime after midnight. Sutsi Pub & Deli is a great place to experience a bit of genuine Estonian culture during your pub crawl.

My opinion: Sutsi is one of my favorite pubs in Tallinn—I love how it stays true to its traditional Estonian roots while still providing a modern atmosphere and excellent drinks selection. I definitely recommend it as part of any pub crawl!

Café Teater

Another great spot for your Tallinn pub crawl is Café Teater. It’s located near the center of town and close to the Town Hall Square. It’s a vibrant and eclectic pub with plenty of interesting nooks and crannies to explore and explore. On any given night, you’ll find live music playing, with original bands from all over Estonia performing here regularly. The drinks selection here is decent—with classic beers and spirits being served—but it’s really the atmosphere that makes this place special. You’ll find plenty of locals here and it’s guaranteed to be an excellent spot on your pub crawl. Café Teater offers something that no other pub in Tallinn can provide.

My opinion: I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Café Teater. The atmosphere was brilliant and I loved getting to experience the original music being played by local bands—definitely somewhere worth visiting during your Tallinn pub crawl!

Kuldse Notsu Kõrts

No pub crawl would be complete without a stop at Kuldse Notsu Kõrts (Golden Pig Tavern). It opened its doors in 1969 and has been a favorite among locals ever since then—they come here not only for the huge selection of local beers but also for its unique interior design. Once you step inside this place you’ll feel like you’ve gone back in time to a classic Estonian tavern—there is even a big fireplace in the corner of the room where you can relax with your drinks. It’s not too far away from the city center and definitely worth stopping by if you want to experience something truly unique on your pub crawl. Kuldse Notsu Kõrts offers an authentic Estonian drinking experience that no other pub in Tallinn can provide.

My opinion: I loved Kuldse Notsu Kõrts—it has an excellent atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re in a different era and it has an excellent selection of beers too! Definitely a highlight of any Tallinn pub crawl!

Von Krahli Baar

Von Krahli Baar (Von Krahl Bar) is another great spot on any Tallinn pub crawl. Situated close to St Rumbold’s Tower in Old Town, this is one of the most popular pubs in Tallin—and it isn’t hard to see why. This place is massive and offers an extensive selection of local beers and ciders as well as spirits and cocktails. There is also tasty food on offer here with pizzas being the most popular option on their menu. On most nights there is live music playing here—usually featuring jazz and blues—that casts a spell on its visitors. This place is a must on any Pub Crawl! Von Krahli Baar is guaranteed to make for an unforgettable experience.

My opinion: Von Krahli Baar has a wonderful atmosphere that makes it one of my favorites in Tallinn—the music always adds a special something that really elevates it above all other pubs! Definitely somewhere I would visit on any pub crawl!

Arthur’s Pub

No pub crawl through Tallinn would be complete without paying Arthur’s Pub a visit. This place is synonymous with old school pub culture—with excellent beer, cheap eats, friendly staff, and regular live music performances all being among its highlights. This classic British-style bar has become so popular with locals over the years—with most coming here after work to enjoy some pints and catch up with their friends—making it the perfect place to mix with local on your night out. Located just off Raekoja Plats (Town Hall Square), Arthur’s Pub is an essential destination for any proper pub crawl in Tallinn.

My opinion: Arthur’s Pub has become one of my favorite watering holes over the years—the atmosphere is always great here and the staff are incredibly welcoming too! It definitely deserves its place on any serious pub crawl!
