Nightlife in Berlin: a Guide

Living in the Capital of Germany, you can expect no less than great nightlife. Berlin is known for its vibrant atmosphere, with so many different venues available for people to experience. Whether you’re looking for a place to relax and get a few drinks, or to dance the night away, Berlin has something for everyone. Let’s focus on some of the best nightlife spots in Berlin.

The Prince Charles Club

One of the best places to start your night is The Prince Charles Club. It has become one of Berlin’s core dance clubs and known as “the place” for Berlin’s most famous underground DJs. Founded in 2011 and still remain one of the most visited nightclubs in the city with more than 600 people visiting every night. The club is located in Kreuzberg and the interior is designed to look like a royal palace, with velvet furniture, antique chandeliers and classical artwork everywhere. The music is bass-heavy techno and house, which keeps the club bouncing along until 5 A.M every night, so it’s perfect for all-night dancing.

The Prince Charles Club also has an outdoors terrace which is open on warm summer days, serving up great drinks, along with delicious snacks. All in all, it is a great place for a night out and a must-see when visiting the city. Personally, I think it’s a great venue to visit but the music ends up being quite repetitive.

Breyer Bar, Churrascaria Grillhouse

Want to go someplace a bit more luxurious? Then why not visit Breyer Bar? The cozy lounge serves up all kinds of spirits, beers and wines, as well as some delicious snacks. The atmosphere here is fantastic. Located in the middle of Berlin’s trendy district, the lighting creates a pleasant and modern atmosphere. The bartenders are very friendly and always happy to chat with guests.

On warm days, you can even enjoy your drinks outside on the terrace where you can sit back and watch the city life go by. They even have live music performances every week on Thursdays and Fridays, so you can really make your night special here. I think Breyer Bar is one of the best places if you’re looking for a sophisticated evening out in Berlin.

Freudenhaus – Club & Rotisserie

Another great venue in Berlin is the Freudenhaus Club & Rotisserie, located just around the corner from Breyer Bar in Mitte. This bar is a great place to come for both drinks and dinner, as it features a full menu of traditional German dishes, like steak tartare and schweinshaxe (roast pork knuckle). Their drinks menu has a huge variety of beers, spirits and wines and they also offer an impressive selection of classic cocktails served up with a twist.

The live DJs perform every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 7 P.M until late. So if you’re looking for great food and relaxed atmosphere with amazing music, this is definitely the place for you! Personally, I really enjoyed my time here and I’d recommend it to everyone looking for something a bit different than clubs or bars.

WBB – Weingarten Bar

If you’re looking for a more relaxed atmosphere then why not head to WBB or Weingarten Bar? Situated in an old wine cellar in Mitte, this bar offers some of the best wines around, with an ever-changing selection chosen by their sommelier. They also serve up some delicious tapas dishes and snacks as well as craft beers and cocktails.

The atmosphere here is very cozy and inviting, perfect for cold winter nights when you want to relax with some friends or even enjoy one of their special wine tastings events. Personally, I think WBB is a great spot for a more chilled evening where you can really enjoy the drinks without any pressure of having to dance or party all night.

Berghain & Panorama Bar

No list of Berlin’s nightlife would be complete without mentioning Berghain & Panorama Bar. This legendary nightclub has been a focal point for techno music since it opened its doors back in 2004. It still remains one of Berlin’s most visited nightclubs with over 1,200 people visiting every weekend night. It features two main areas: The Panorama Bar which offers a more relaxed atmosphere with its classic house music, while downstairs in Berghain they crank out anything from playful minimal techno to moody underground tracks. It’s no wonder this place is high on everyone’s list of must-visit places in Berlin!

The atmosphere in Berghain & Panorama Bar is electrifying — you can really feel the energy of the crowd as everyone dances into the early hours of morning. For those who love their techno music there really is no other place like this in Berlin! Personally I enjoy going here because of its unique atmosphere but recommend you be selective with your crowd as there are people drinking heavily! The bouncers are also very selective at the door so expect long lines if you want to get in here. All that said, definitely check this place out if you’re looking for an unforgettable night out!

Clärchens Ballhaus

Another venue to visit if you’re looking for something more traditional is Clärchens Ballhaus. Founded in 1913 as a private ballroom for German nobility it still maintain its original atmosphere with its high ceilings and chandeliers, making it one of the city’s oldest venues still active today. During the daytime there are dance classes available and then at night live bands play their tunes on the venue’s big dance floor. So it’s really easy to spot couples swaying to the swing beats during weekend nights . If you’re not much into dancing then sit back with one of their delicious cocktails or German beers while watching people dance or simply just enjoy the live music performances they have available every week at Clärchens Ballhaus! Personally I think it’s worth checking out at least once during your stay in Berlin as there really isn’t much else like it anymore today!
